Pouting Princess

Mom says she cleans my ears with apple cider vinegar because she loves me.

I don't think we have the same definition for that word. I would never do such an awful thing to her.

She's tricky, that one....

First, let's get one thing straight. As much as I love a good time, my first priority is keeping my house and my people safe. It's what I do best.

So I was in the backyard today, keeping an eye on things and harassing Pickles so he'd play with me. When I noticed something different about the little window downstairs. It looked...funny. Foggy. And there was something moving behind it!

Of course, I had to check it out.

As I stalked closer, I sniffed deeply...it smelled wet. Really wet. Like bath wet. And that thing was still moving. I crept closer, and just when my nose was almost touching it....

BAM! It popped open! Of course, I jumped back and gave the creature my very best "You don't want to mess with me, this is MY HOUSE" bark" and it laughed...it laughed Avery's laugh.

"Hi pretty girl!"

*blink*blink*

It was Avery. And she was all wet. Then I figured it out. Oh...she's in the bathtub with the rain-thing--whatchacallit? Shower.--going.

She made kissy noises at me, then shut the window again, still chuckling.

I like a good joke as well as the next gal, so I bounced up to the window and poked it with my nose. And she opened it again and said hi to me! These humans sure are easy to train.

Still, she didn't have to spook me like that...wonder if she's trying to keep me on my toes. She's a little tricky, that one....

Hmph!

Darn cat.

Don't get me wrong, I love cats. Even Miki, even though he pops me on the muzzle every time I get close to him. Hey, he's got personal space, I get that. But now he's just gone too far.

He's in my spot.

I like to sit backwards on the couch and watch out the window. Mom's usually next to me, and an occasional nose poke reminds her to scritch. It's the best place in the world--comfy, close to Mom, and watching the world go by. The couch is just the right height that I can rest my chin on the back cushion and just relax from my duties as Princess.

But today, Miki is laying in my chin spot. He's not even looking out the window--he's just sleeping! He can sleep anywhere! So why does he have to be in my spot? I can't make him move, or Mom will yell...and he'll slap my face a lot before he moves. I told Mom he was in my way, but once she figured out what I wanted (sometimes Mom's a little slow), she laughed at me (at me!) and said she wasn't going to move him! No matter how hard I argued, she kept saying no.

What's a girl to do? Nothing but pout. So here I sit, sulking on the floor, refusing to look at Mom (the traitor) or that darn cat. Hmph!
